This. This is stewardship. Not rescue, not no kill, not bleeding hearts, not some puffed up idea of righteousness. These are working animals. They are true beasts of burden, and we in the states have no idea what that even means anymore. They are used until they die. They work every day looking like this and it makes a lot of our abuse cases look like a vacation. The owners bring many of these animals to these people for help. They have no idea how to care for them. They get fixed up, fattened up, and back to work to feed the people they serve. And do it without any complaint. How HUMBLING!! The people doing this work are, in my opinion the true definition of stewards to the Land and Animals. The world is so out of proportion. Why cant we see... How about we feed, clothe and shelter the worlds children instead of buying human grade cat food? How about we offer vet care and feed for these working animals, instead of hoarding thousands of useless horses in sanctuaries? Why dont we give our veterans what they deserve instead of what illegals feel entitled to? Why dont we build a womans shelter instead of a brand new church? Why dont we educate and help people instead of pointing fingers? I hope one day the world will find a happy medium, but until then, I just pray our King will restore His kingdom. These guys are true examples. And the mare is truly, truly beautiful.
