This , according to Loveless were the knives that convinced him to go full time as a maker. These were all made for Harry Archer. Loveless had read a story by Ken Warner about knife makers, this was in the 60s when Loveless still had a full time job. Seems that Ken left out Loveless, and maybe because Loveless was not a huge name. So Bob sent this box of knives to Kens house, and Harry Archer saw them there. The little knife on the bottom it hidden tang, Pig Sticker Bob called it. This knife weighs nothing. The big bear Harry used in Vietnam and broke off the tip inside the enemys rib when their position was over run, and it got down to hand to hand. When Harry brought it back to the loveless shop, showed it to Bob, Loveless said we dont repair abused knives, and where is the tip Harry said Still in the mans rib cage and sure enough it is about 1/8 of an inch shorter. The fighter it tulip wood, bob said that was some of the most beautiful wood he had used on a fighter. Very interesting set.
