This afternoon I had the pleasure of hosting a briefing session for MPs with David Rohrsheim, the General Manager of Uber in Australia. Posing the question: Uber: Whats all the Fuss about?, we gave MPs from all parties the chance to ask questions and explore concerns about the worlds fastest growing ride-sharing venture, now worth $18billion and operating in hundreds of cities worldwide. Should MPs be embracing new technology and competition in transport or should we protect the investment made by taxi owners in the existing taxi licence plates? What do you think?
