This afternoon two of us had high tea at the InterContinental Sydney. The environment was beautiful - a warmly lit Treasury Building, live classical piano and fresh food. But a small dispute over a member entitlement escalated quickly when the junior waiter patronised us, her supervisor suggested we lacked common sense, and a Gus Fring-like manager insulted us with hollow customer service and a disingenuous offer of compromise. We left with a bad taste in our mouths, particularly in light of our historical loyalty to the hotel. Anyway, just putting it out there because there are a lot of options for high tea in Sydney.
