This afternoon we lost our beloved cat TC. TC was part of the family for over 20 years after being rescued by James. He was around 6 weeks old and had been abandoned. Jamie ran to the pet store and got a bottle and kitty milk. He was a friend and a magnificent cat. He ruled the back yard with an iron claw. He once took on, and won, a quick, one sided battle with a Husky who made the mistake of coming into his yard. He had been in failing health.This afternoon he was lying on a rug in front of the sliding glass door, I was on the phone talking to James about him. He got up, sprayed the rug as if to make a final “this is my world” statement and went out to the patio he loved so much. TC walked around the patio for a minute then lay down, laid his head in my hand for a few minutes and meowed a couple of times. He raised his head licked my hand a couple of times, laid his head back down and died. I hope by being with him in those last few minutes I made his last journey a little easier. He was truly loved and will be deeply missed. TC will always be remembered as part of my family. Even though I knew it was coming, it was heart breaking to lose him.
