This airplane is a highly modified version of the Boeing - TopicsExpress

This airplane is a highly modified version of the Boeing StratoCruiser airliner that was developed from the WWII-era B-29 bomber. It featured a double-bubble fuselage to accommodate about 75-passengers. The company that modified the aircraft, removed the upper part of the fuselage and built the much larger one to accomodate very large cargo, such as portions of rocket-bodies or aircraft fuselages. The wings were also strengthened, and the original piston-engines were replaced by turboprops. Finally, the original vertical stabilizer was made large in order to get it out of the slipstream shadow of the new, larger fuselage. I think its cool that an airplane that first flew about the time I was born is still going strong!
