This amazing patient stayed with us during the week, he is a macaw! Macaws originate from the rainforests of South America and Mexico. They have a very long tail and are classified as parrots. They have a large powerful beak that they use to crunch nutshells with (they can easily break open a walnut shell!) We had to carefully anaesthetise this beautiful bird so that we could repair his beak that had been badly damaged. Dr. Tomi and Dr. Anthony successfully patched up his beak and we hope recovers well!
