The 80-episode drama series, which features popular star #FanBingbing, recounts the story of Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) empress #WuZetian. While the show has been a hit among audiences, it did cause a flutter among officials. The costumes apparently displayed a little too much cleavage for the officials’ comfort, who decided to impose a series of cuts. But that hasn’t stopped fans from expressing their appreciation for Fan and the costumes. In fact, they’ve become a hit among #cosplayers in the country. One particular individual known in the cosplaying circles as “Coser Wuya” wowed fans on social media recently. Coser Wuya’s transformation into the empress, with costume and makeup, left many amazed. What, however, completely bowled them over was the fact that “Coser Wuya” is a man. Oh, how the lovely Fan Bingbing inspires her fans! But it’s not just online that the empress is a rage. An example of the show’s appeal with audiences across the country was seen during a recent stewardess contest at the Chengdu East Star Airlines Travel College in Sichuan Province.
