This anti-Burmese poster is posted by someone called Rakhine Daughter, Rakhine Nation. It condemns the Burmese as the most worthless, ungrateful, evil people. We must analyze why an ethnic minority would have such disparaging views of the majority Burmese ethnic group.... it would stem from the 1784 invasion of Rakhine Nation by the Burmese king, the massacre of tens of thousands of Rakhine, and the pillaging of the holy Maha Muni Buddha which was brought back to Mandalay , the royal capitol of that era. The Rakhine have never forgiven the Burmese for these war crimes, and the Rakhine cannot be blamed for feeling the way they do. Fast forward to the present. Analyze. Why are the Burmese and the Rakhine now united in persecuting the Rohingya? Answer: It is a rapid way of erasing the past and uniting the two groups. It is difficult to forgive, forget, and love one another and unite. . . The quick and easy way is to deflect all that hatred and anger on to a 3rd party, make that 3rd party a scape goat, a sacrificial lamb, and then unite in an orgy of hate. Conclusion. If is difficult to unite and love one another, but easy to unite in hatred by hating a common enemy. I do not endorse this philosophy, and I am only trying to analyze why, in this recent past, why we are having one racist riot after another. One thing for sure is that the World is going to look at us Burmese as an evil people , everything that this poster says, if this keeps going on, and I am sad because not all Burmese are like that. 10Q NY Kogyi for the share.
