This article was printed in todays Times-Tribune newspaper and is about a primary care veterinarian right here in Scranton. One of our technicians brought in the article in dismay - We are disappointed that a colleague would be so dismissive of a client and ultimately put a patient and beloved family member at risk. This casts a poor shadow on all veterinarians! We have some incredible working relationships with our regional veterinary colleagues, but just because primary care veterinarians know that VREC is here, doesnt mean that they all use our services....but the clients and patients do! In the end it just makes pet parents angry that their primary care veterinarian would withhold care and not send them to a specialist or an emergency facility. This isnt about money or ego, its about our pet family members health and well being! Please help us spread the word to make sure pet family members get immediate emergency and referral care they deserve! If you have an emergency or need a specialist you can ask your vet, but you can also just call us or come in directly. This is an example of why we are so happy to be here and available 24/7/365. drfoxvet/library/animal-doctor-articles/dog/should-a-booked-vet-offer-referrals
