This beautiful little outfit was sent to Sarah today from her friend and our fellow Beagle mom, Debra. Some of you may remember the little Beagle boy we had on our prayer list a few months ago named Foots, well Debra is Foots mama. This little crocheted outfit is just beautiful and I think Sarah will be able to wear it for a long time as it is a little big and very stretchy. She also sent this butte of our favorite baby shampoo. I know some of you have questioned why Sarah is wearing clothes and hats sometimes. The part of Sarahs brain that regulates her body temp is broken, and she gets too hot at times and too cold at times. Having clothes is helping us when she needs a little thermal control. As for the hats, it is necessary in order to help protect her brain. Sarahs brain sits at the very front of her head and according to the neuro, the slightest bump on the forehead could cause her serious injury and even death. These stretchy hats will be used to put padding inside the front to give a little cushion in the event she runs into something while she is being very active and playing, especially outdoors and when she is playing with Buddy. Some have expressed concerns that Sarah looks like she is very unhappy with the hats on, and you are right, she does NOT like them. But we are making this a lot of fun for her and having her to wear them for short periods of time followed by rewards, in an effort to get her used to wearing them. This may or may not work, but we have to at least try. When she is running in the yard she gets very excited, and since her vision is so poor, it is easy for her to run into things. She doesnt have good depth perception and also hits her head attempting to go underneath things. So please understand that we are working with our girl to accept her wardrobe for her own protection, not for our amusement. AND although Sarah looks sad, she usually is not as this is her normal expression most of the time. She is a very humble little girl, and hangs her head as if she is in trouble a lot of times. Some of the pictures do show her a little more relaxed and happy looking. Thank you Debra for the gifts. Also, please keep[p Debra and her family in your prayers. They have dealt with a lot of family medical problems lately and I know Debra must be exhausted, and mentally drained. This afternoon was a very sad one for us as our little friend (my great niece) Emily lost her cat Sweetie this evening. There was an accident and mom Amelia called me to say she was on her way to the vet with Sweetie, so I jumped in the car and met them at the vet. Unfortunately, Sweetie could not be saved, and was gone by the time I arrived. This is Emilys first pet and her mom is preparing to tell her and Will about it as I type. I am sure the kiddos will be just fine, but Amelias heart is breaking for her children, as this was their friend and play mate. So remember this family in your thoughts and prayers. We are thankful for another beautiful day with our babies and to share it with my best friend and true love, Tommy. We hope your day has been special in some way and remember to Pay it Forward.
