If you need to send another message to Senator Nelson, please use the form on his Web site: billnelson.senate.gov/contact/index.cfm#email Dear Mr. Parra: Thank you for contacting me regarding the violent disruption of peaceful demonstrations in Venezuela that began in early February. I too share your concern for the people of Venezuela and have been working with other Senators to address the issue. In order to bring attention to the recent violence, I cosponsored S. Res. 365, which passed the Senate in February, and condemns the forceful acts of repression against Venezuelan citizens. I’ve also signed onto legislation, S. 2142, with Senators Menendez and Rubio that will hold those who committed human rights violations in the Venezuelan protests fully accountable by imposing targeted sanctions against those perpetrators. In addition, I’ve requested that the Organization of American States conduct a human rights investigation into the Venezuelan government’s crackdown on demonstrators who are opposed to continual crime, inflation, and censorship. I will continue to monitor this situation and if you have any other concerns please do not hesitate to contact me in the future. Sincerely, Bill Nelson
