This conflict has by now been aired plenty, with each side holding their position and ignoring empathetic discussions in favor of attacking the other. LGBTQ people... seek a way to move forward, to reconcile your opposing viewpoints and needs... or this Cultural War within the LGBTQ side of the larger, national political Cultural War will weaken the movement towards transgender civil rights and acceptance. I thought this was a fairly balanced article. Transgender women living as... being women, should think about how their desire to be affirmed as women within societys binary M/F gender division is viewed by the gender fluid, queer person who express their femininity within a core male identity. Neither side likes their existence to be faulted, denied or made secondary to others objectives. Find a path of conversation and agreement where you are sensitive each others needs and feelings., but can reach some accommodation and agreement to present united front in the national Cultural War. If just one side wins, then the reality is that both sides will lose. It true that cisgender society at present is generally unaware of the difference between Drag queens, gender fluid queers and transgendered women. So focus on educating them. Is a new term needed for transgendered women whose being is feminine, and who live and identify as women, because the umbrella term transgender is too broad?
