This could be a possible, LEGIT trade for Kevin Love. It would be a 3 team trade. Check it out: Golden State Warriors Receives: Kevin Love (MN), Kevin Martin (MN), Gerald Wallace (BOS), and Joel Anthony (BOS). Boston Celtics Receives: Andrew Bogut (GSW), 1 first round pick from Golden State Warriors and 1 second round pick from Minnesota Timberwolves. Minnesota Timberwolves Receives: Klay Thompson (GSW), Harrison Barnes (GSW), David Lee (GSW), Kelly Olynyk (BOS), 2 future first round picks. (One from Boston Celtics. One from Golden State Warriors) Why the Golden State Warriors do this trade: They have been heavily pursing Kevin Love all year and want him bad just like many other teams in the NBA. Kevin Love with a Stephen Curry duo can be lethal. Kevin Love can put up double-doubles on a nightly basis and can rack up assists for Stephen Curry, who is already an All-Star, Elite Point Guard in the league. They can take a few bad contracts like Kevin Martin and Gerald Wallace. They do have enough room to make it work. They get a great perimeter shooter in Kevin Martin. The only issue with him, is that he can be injury prone. Keep him healthy, Golden State Warriors have 3 sharp shooters that can hit behind the arc. (Kevin Love, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Martin) They wont get much from Bostons Gerald Wallace who suffered an ACL tear, late last season. When he recovers, he can provide good minutes off the bench, He is getting older (31), past his prime, and could build locker room chemistry and teach the young guys a thing or two. Joel Anthony has not been known for his scoring. His defense is what has attracted teams. Joel Anthony is only 31 but just like Gerald Wallace, hes past his prime. I doubt Golden State Warriors will really use him. Why the Boston Celtics do this trade: Boston lacks a true Center and really needs one down there to do manly work. Sure they have a Jared Sullinger, a 69 Center from Ohio State, but he will get out muscled by players like Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, and Kendrick Perkins. With getting Andrew Bogut, a 70 white Australian who can be a big man when needed, the Boston Celtics automatically get a guy who can finally fit in with the other players listed above in this paragraph. They get a good rebounder and defensive player, who can score and be a helping part to a rebuilding franchise. They also get a future first round pick from the Golden State Warriors and a future second round pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The first rounder can be helpful, but the second round pick, I believe Danny Ainge (Boston Celtics General Manager) will use it as a trade chip to get something else in return. They do this trade also, to dump off Gerald Wallaces ugly contract and get rid of Joel Anthony who would not be much use to the Boston Celtics this season. Lastly, Why the Minnesota Timberwolves do this trade: Lets be honest here. Minnesota really hasnt had luck in the draft the last 5+ years or so. Dont get me wrong, some have been good but just injury prone. Here is Minnesotas break. They get a great sharp shooter in Klay Thompson who can put up good all around numbers on a consistent basis. Hes a 66 Shooting Guard who can stretch the floor, run and score in transition and can guard the Point Guard, Shooting Guard, and Small Forward positions. The best part, this guy can stay healthy. Next is Harrison Barnes. Drafted in 2012, Barnes has proven to be an elite Small Forward/Shooting Guard for years to come. He is a 68 forward who can just put the ball in the hole. The name of the game. He has solid defense and only will get better. David Lee is also a piece of this trade because he can but up double-doubles on a nightly basis and can rebound. This guy is 31, past his prime, but still astound you at times. He can play either the Power Forward or Center position. Lastly, is Kelly Olynyk. This kid is a solid, white 7 footer who had a better rookie year than the Future Hall of Famer, Dirk Nowitzki. Olynyk was a steal in the 2012 NBA Draft for these Celtics and proved himself last season. He can score, rebound, stretch the floor, you name it. Before his college days, he was a Point Guard in High School so he has some decent court vision as well. As Olynyks career keeps rolling, he will only get better. Lets not forget about those 2 future first round picks. I included those because it would convince Flip Saunders (Minnesota Timberwolves General Manager and Head Coach) to accept the trade. Using those picks could end this unlucky drought for the Timberwolves Franchise and they could very well pick, the next Kevin Garnett. Thoughts, comments, questions? -KG5
