This disease is so devastating! I dont think people really grasp the seriousness of what is happening to these kids. This disease is a silent killer, destroying their heart and lungs inside silently. On the outside they look fine, on the inside a battle is raging. Tina Blackburn lost her daughter Alyssa at at age 15 in January to this disease. JUST 20 days after being diagnosed, Alyssa passed away. Her mom is trying to make sure that no parent has to feel what she felt and feels every single day with her daughters passing. Getting the word out to doctors, schools, other parents. Being an advocate to all of the other kids who continue to suffer, and those that have not been diagnosed yet! I as Tina, took my daughter Shaye to the doctors MANY Times with her symptoms, dizziness, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, fatigue, only to be told it was anxiety. NOT ONCE did they run any tests, other than for ADD, anxiety testing. By the time she was diagnosed which was just by accident, her heart was enlarged and the damage was severe. Ask yourself, could it be PH?
