This fall the North Highlands Orchard Project is looking for - TopicsExpress

This fall the North Highlands Orchard Project is looking for donations of material to fill the holes/trenches well be planting in next spring at the Bay St. Lawrence Community Centre. 250 highbush blueberries, hazelnuts, elderberry and more will be planted to create a community orchard called The Grove in the Bay. I was inspired to post this request after a generous soul stopped by as we worked there last week, and asked if we wanted some bags of black earth she didnt need. Thank you! We would be happy to accept as little or as much as you want to donate, or need to get rid of: bags of raked leaves, black earth, topsoil, peat moss, potting soil , pine needles, eel grass, wood chips, saw dust or wood shavings (from raw, untreated lumber).... You can drop materials off at the BSLCC, by the driveway near the row of ribbons where we did a planting last week. Or we can come and pick them up. If you know of a good place where we can scrounge leaves, pine needles, sawdust etc, that would be great too. Thanks.
