This great show was on briefly - ARE YOU TOUGHER THAN A BOY SCOUT? - have you seen it? As my son prepares for his Eagle rank this summer, I cant help but be super pssst off that this show had to fall because of the backlash it got from the LGBT. I am disgusted that a great and encouraging show like this with real Eagle scouts had gotten nixed because of the bullying by this PROTECTED CLASS Its bullshit.. I would like to begin a petition to get this back up and running. Any ideas scout parents? Controversy[edit] The show generated a significant backlash against the network for their association with the Boy Scouts of America, an organization that, prior to 2014, openly gay scouts.[2] Over 120,000 people signed an online petition urging National Geographic to issue a disclaimer before the show. The petition argued that The show is being used to market the Boy Scouts of America to young people, but fails to inform viewers about the organizations anti-gay policy.[3] National Geographic rejected the request for a disclaimer, citing It is against our network’s policy to air any disclaimer other than those warning that Viewer Discretion is Advised due to content.[4] It was reported that the series is part of a strategic partnership with the National Geographic Channel, to describe the series as a tool to push the idea that Scouting is cool with youth. It goes on to state that the Boy Scouts of America will continue to work on marketing plans with National Geographic for leveraging the show with Scouting audiences and audiences outside of scouting.[5][6]
