This has not been a good week. My wonderful sister-in-law Adeline DeMarrais lost her lengthy battle with cancer on Tuesday and today I learned that my cousin Jim Lowry lost a similar battle. What makes the latest news so sad is that I had lost contact with the Lowry branch of my family -- his mother was my fathers sister -- until just a few months ago, even though we both lived in Bergen County.
