This has not been a great week when it comes to loss in our community. Beirut, Grenada. Not something I want to think about. So, I am reposting this. On the 23rd, I offered the Maori Haka as a send off to our Brothers in the Marines. Today it goes to those Brothers who died in Grenada. AATW! RLTW! This Well Defend! The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday! Semper Fi! I did not know these Brothers. Never hung with them with I served. Their loss is no less a loss. I dont ever remember a parade or tribute in my lifetime to celebrate or mourn the loss of all those we have lost. Yes, we have veterans parades and Memorial Day parades. What do we really do, past our current traditions to give those the send off they really deserve? For those who died in Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Somalia and our soldiers who have died in this current war and many more, we need to show them. Today I want to borrow from the Maori tradition and give our Brothers and Sisters weve lost the send off they deserve. Rest in Peace. You have earned your place in the Hall of Heroes. He loved veterans and all who served, and he paid them a great deal of respect. Today we mourn. Tomorrow, we need to think hard about taking our country back. Semper Fi!
