This ice bucket challenge thing points towards something interesting about human condition.Dont worry its not about water being wasted, personally I think we waste more water taking bath with shower than bucket than with this challenge, at least this is for a good cause. Its something else, I see so many people donating to a charity they have no idea about, when they could just walk in to any of the various places where there would be people who live on less than what we might spend in a year....anything from pencil to books to food would do much more overall good than giving money to an organisation which is finding cure for a disease which has no immediate impact in the persons surrounding who is actually donating the money, heck we can feed the dogs outside our house and see a bigger change in their quality of lives than give money to alsa. Question then is why are people going about this ice bucket challenge, surely there is some other human faculty at work than just benevolence and generosity, its interesting how so many people can be made more generous than they actually are by putting societys eyes on them, guess this is what is called social pressure. Dont get me wrong Im all for the challenge, personally I might want to do a bit more research and be a bit more involved with whom I am giving my money to, but its never a bad idea to try and help others....:)
