Compare these figures with those for the more common H-code & Y-code 390 Marauder V-8 (390-2V), 270 hp @ 4400 rpm, 403 lb-ft @ 2600 rpm, 9.5:1 compression ratio engines. The X-code 390-2V saw 2,999 installations in 1967 Mercury Monterey, Montclair, Commuter, and Colony Park vehicles, all paired with the U-code C6 SelectShift Merc-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission.
