This is Amys bedroom, very spartan, the way she likes it. After living alone on her rancho (open structure with no walls) for 5-7 years, she still prefers the spartan life. However when we entertain guests they need the extra conveniences like overhead lights, shelves to store their luggage and clothes, full length mirrors, over head fans, etc. Amy and I generally give up our best, most comfortable spaces, for over-nighting guests. This week I have dedicated myself and our subcontractors to upgrading Amys bedroom area. I will keep you posted on the progress. One last thing, you shouldnt get the idea that we are totally without conveniences here. Last night Amy and I enjoyed falling asleep on our wood fired, rocket stove, heated couch. Fantastic far infra-red heat pumped up through the cement/clay earth cushions. If that isnt enough to get your attention, how about this, I cooked a fresh vegetable soup mix on the rocket stove as I was heating the couch to protect from the cool damp evening.
