This is Anthony Carbajals Ice Bucket video. Hes a fellow photographer, based in CA, whose work I have been following for a few years. Hes just great at what he does, or did...and still hopes to continue doing one day. He was diagnosed in January with ALS and has since had to stop working. Hes only 26 years old. I cant even imagine...I donated to a personal fund in January that was set up to help him pay for medical expenses, left over business expenses, etc, since he had to sell all of his camera equipment to pay for costs and it was the only way I knew to help. “During the past six months, my hands became noticeably weaker, and both arms began twitching constantly. My last few weddings, I had difficulties changing my camera settings, because my hands were so weak. I tried to convince myself it was carpal tunnel, even though I knew these were the same symptoms my mother and grandmother experienced before they were diagnosed with ALS. I finally got health insurance and was seen by a neurologist. I was diagnosed soon after.” Hopefully now that this has become more public, we can all find more ways to help and this is a really good video so we remember the REAL challenge thats behind the ice challenges.
