This is Kenya, a 4 yr old Podenco Andalus who will be arriving from Spain to NY on 11/1. Kenya has been in a shelter since near Malaga since he was 3 MONTHS old along with his six siblings!!!! His siblings have long been adopted, yet Kenya still waits for his forever family. Kenya is shy, he needs a caring and patient family who will help him become a trusting, relaxed hound. Spending his whole life in a kennel has not helped this poor guy. The best situation for Kenya is one with other dogs and with a routine which will help Kenya develop trust. He does not balk at human contact, and he will sigh in relief when he is held, he will also take treats from a human hand. He is a small guy,weighing about 25 lbs with gorgeous amber eyes, a pink nose and big ears!! Kenya arrives in NY and will be fostered for 2 weeks by Grateful Greyhounds as we are helping Galgo Podenco Support. He is available to an appropriate home on either the east or west coast as he will be heading to CA on 11/16 if an appropriate home is not found on the east coast.
