This is Pistol Shot Gypsys official statement on the leaked material. I will not be engaging in any flame wars in the comment section so please take any negative feedback elsewhere. OFFICIAL STATEMENT: Hey guys. We didnt want to have to publicly say anything on the matter but there is a lot of misinformation out there. As many of you may know former members of PSG have taken it upon themselves to leak some of our unreleased material. At first, we didnt want to assign malice to their motives. We all have had those moments where we look back on bands we were part of and get nostalgic and share (released) material we are proud of. If that were the case, theyd be promoting PSG by sharing our music. Unfortunately, those are not all the facts. The song they have released is unpublished material that will be on our next EP. The accompanying video is slated to be released a month after the EP for promotional purposes to support the new release. At this stage we can only assume that by leaking the material they are trying to cause the band harm and hurt the new release, as well as the upcoming promotional campaign. We were silent on the issue of how these members initially left the band. An argument could be made that given the timing, a few days before opening for two national acts at Fete Ballroom in Providence, RI, and the public inflammatory posts, that even then they were trying to cause PSG as much harm as they could. We just moved forward. Even now, as a band, we are not dealing directly with the matter. We have a management and legal team for such things. We are in the middle of writing, recording, and preparing for some very important gigs. Our management team reached out to one of these past members first asking that they simply take down our unpublished work and stop encouraging others to distribute it. If that were the case, there would be no need to pursue this any further. We can all go back to our rock n roll lives. Wed have no hard feelings and would wish them nothing but the best. Calls and texts were not returned, but of of course the public posts continue. Our management team outlined next steps which obviously are of a legal nature given the bands signed agreements and federal copyright law. People who are close to either side will be blinded by loyalty and friendship. That is to be expected. But whats right is right and whats wrong is simply wrong. Thanks for reading.
