This is SO cool!! ISS’ #3-D Printer Produces First Object Made In #Space. The AP (11/25, Dunn) reports that the ISS’s new 3-D printer has replicated its first part: “a sample replacement part for itself.” According to the article, #NASA spokesman Dan Huot said that some of the material stuck to the printer’s tray, but this is “part of the learning process.” The article notes that the issue may mean that there is a difference in “the layer-by-layer bonding process” in space compared to what takes place on Earth. issue Made In Space, which developed the printer, called the milestone “a transformative moment.” Meanwhile, more items will be printed int the coming weeks for examination back on Earth. t.usnews/Z4cktk via @usnews
