This is a Brix reading. We use a Refractometer to measure the sap density. This indicates the nutrition in the sap of our blueberries. The meter measures from 0-32% & a fuzzy delineation line indicates good calcium levels, directly related to sugar content. Now an average reading for blueberries is 8% a good reading is 12% an an excellent reading is 14% We are currently on 19% & the leaves have only just emerged, this will increase as our season progresses towards picking time when we achieve Brix of 32%. The meter only gos to 32% as it was never thought that 32% was achievable. This has also been independently tested by Graeme Sait of Nutri-Tech Solutions 5 years ago & is still on their website as nobody even gets close to us. We have never wanted to be the biggest but we are the best.
