This is a Larkin Secretarys desk. If you are not familiar with the company, they originally made soaps, then you could collect wrappers to buy the furniture they made. Although the pieces were very popular in the early 1900s, every piece was unique. I have never seen another like this one. Inside the desk there are cubbies to put letters, etc. Although not shown, I have all the shelves to the china cabinet. There are some issues with the piece. Some of the hardware has fallen off and I have, some I do not. I have many of the keys. The back of the mirror (and possibly the mirror itself) was replaced long before I was born. Looks like some one tried to break in with a screw driver. Its not perfect, but it is beautiful. I inherited it, and I grew up with it, but I have little kids in my house, and we have just moved and there is no place safe to keep it, so Im hoping it will go to someone who will love it as I did. I hate to sell it, but I would like to see it cherished by someone. $550. Price is slightly negotiable. It was appraised in the 70s at over $1000. Needs to be picked up in Caribou, or with prepayment through PayPal, I will deliver at $1.00/mi for up to 100 miles.
