This is a True Picture of “QUEST” and I need support from all Muslims of the world who like to Please Allah for the benefits of Akhirah. Let’s purpose yourself that you are in The QUEST Education Centre and experiencing the Unique Education System in the World. A DAY IN THE QUEST This is the Quranic Education System; a Pilot Project of Holy Qur’an Research Foundation Islamabad Pakistan. The name of institute is “QUEST Education Centre of Excellence”; an Islamic Environmental Grammar School. From inside to outside; it is a Model of cleanliness, Symbol of Simplicity and Sign of Dignity. It is decorated with Quranic Ayaat, Ahadith of the Prophet (SW) and pictures of the Great Education Centers of Islam. Out side the classrooms gives a fascinating view of beautiful gardens; having variety of flowerbeds and plants. The motto Zikr, Fikr, Taskhir is displayed in bold letters at the Entrance Gate. The students badges also bear the same motto. The Centre opens at 8.00 am; but teachers and staff however report half ‘n’ hour earlier. They gather in the office of Principal to discuss days Programme. Young boys and girls (clad in bright and clean Uniforms) begin to alight from the school buses at 7.45 a.m. The Caretaker Staff welcome them at the bus stand with a smile. The environment is humming with the Islamic greeting of Aslamo Alykum. Students proceed to their classrooms in discipline manner, no noise or disorder. Immediately after placing their belongings in their desks, students rush to the ASSEMBLY AREA. Teachers and Staff are already there with the Principal. The assembly starts with the recitation of Holy Qur’an by one of the pre-designated student of the day. The Qirat is really impressive and enchanting. After the recitation, principal explains the meanings and present a brief Tafsir of recited verses. Now! Another student steps forward to deliver a brief presentation based on the examples from the Life of Prophet (SW). The topic of the day is Honesty in Virtue. The assembly period lasts for thirty minutes. From the assembly area, in majestic military style parade, students proceed to their classrooms. Military music playing in corridors produces melodious harmony and enchanting effects on the soul with glorious words “AllahoAkbar”. The first period is designated for the Holy Qur’an reading and memorising. There are qualified special religious teachers for this Holy Task who are bound in the position to teach the Qur’an and Islamic studies properly. All class teachers are there to participate in this session with students. Quranic Education is given a very special area of study in this pilot project. Hifz-ul-Quran starts from Class 1, covering 3 JUZZ (Sparas) every year. InshaAllah, Students will memorize 24 JUZZ (Sparas) by the time they finish class 8; other 6 JUZZ will be covered in higher classes. For this purpose every day they spend One hour in Qur’an reading and one hour in Arabic Language Class. It is stated that: besides English, Arabic is another important language which is mandatory to learn for each student. By the time a student reaches class 4, he/she has the proficiency to study simple books in Arabic. If you ask a question that when shall students fully understand the Holy Qur’an in Arabic? The answer is: INSHALLAH, they will acquire this ability by 8th class and fully understand the meanings of Qur’an while they are reading in Arabic. Books & Computer Software for teaching Arabic language is specially selected that correspond to the frequently used words and phrases of Qur’an. The overall purpose of teaching Arabic language is to learn Qur’an as soon as possible with full understanding. In this Centre of Learning, another area of stress is on Seerat-ul-Nabi. Students must model their lives on the pattern of Prophet (SW). To fulfill this objective, students are taught the daily life routine of the Prophet (SW) and are encouraged to practice the same habits. Their Hero, Model and Symbol of perfection are their Prophet (SW). After the Qur’an period, other academic and curriculum activities start. Among these, physical fitness is given a considerable priority. As you can see, a group of students proceeding at the school ground for physical training. Here each change of rhythm begins with the slogan of “ALLAH AKBAR”, followed by the military background music. Catching the musical rhythm, students perform various exercises for 30 minutes. Upon completion of the physical training, students are given rest for ten minutes. While they are resting, teacher conducts inspection of their nails, shoes and uniform. It is mandatory that all students and teachers should start each activity always with BISMILLAH, so that it becomes their second nature. From playground you have to visit the classrooms. Here also you will see the same cleanliness, majesty and simplicity of Islamic environment. Classrooms are equipped with modern teaching aids. For example: in nursery class you will see, English Teacher is teaching alphabets with the help of computer graphics and an accent trainer device. When the key of any letter is pressed, the same letter appears on the screen and concurrently is repeated thrice from a microphone in pure English accent. You will witness similar modern methods are implemented for teaching Arabic, Urdu, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science. Students are provided with the lab books to write the assignments and perform experiments at their own. Teachers give a lot of stress on the proper pronunciation of taught languages. You must know that, it is only in the first six years of age that accent of a language can be adopted properly. It is to be observed that computer added teaching methods raise lot of interest in the students. They are seemed so much absorbed in their work that they don’t even notice anybodys presence. From classrooms you will be taken to the language laboratory. Here number of computers and other programming facilities are available. A student can select any language such as Urdu, English or Arabic. As result of these teaching methods, one really has to appreciate to hear the accent and pronunciation of the students. From there, you will be taken to the Model Room, where you will see very impressive creative work being done by the students in the fields of Art, Science, Technology and Calligraphy. Teacher will let you know that, to develop Fikr (creativeness and search for new ideas) students are given term projects according to their Inherent ability. Upon completion and approval, it is exhibited in the model room. In the recognition of students ability, best exhibits get special prizes and certificates. You will observe that, in this Institute, great stress is laid on the Science subjects like Mathematic, Physics, Chemistry and biology. It is apparent from the video films and teaching aids on these subjects. You will experience, similar aids are used abroad as well and Teachers supplement their lectures with the help of the films and charts. You will also visit the laboratory and will surprise to see that, even in at age of five, students are performing interesting experiments to understand natural phenomenon. In the same context, you will be taken to the botanical garden, where students grow seeds of various kinds. They observe & report its growth. Each group of students is responsible for the growth of plants on a piece of given land. At the end of each term the students are allowed to take home these plants. At 1:00 ‘o’ clock, paging system announces Lunch and Prayer time. Brake for one hour. The school itself provides lunch, however parents are paying for it with monthly tuition fees. Students wash their hands; clean napkins are spread on the desks. Students, who are in charge for the lunch, bring the lunch trolley from the kitchen. Each student is served with his share that consists of an apple, glass of milk, chicken sandwich and a piece of cake. Class teachers also eat with them. Eating begins with the BISMILLAH. At the end they all join in the thanks-giving prayer. After lunch, students have a brake for Wodhu. It is the time for DHUHAR PRAYER. Everyone participates and one of the senior most staff members leads the prayer. After the prayer Leader gives a lesson of Hadith for 10 minutes. It is now 2:00 PM; Students are coming back to their classrooms. You will be surprised to see everyone resting their heads on the desks. If you ask the teacher, he/she will tell you that, “this is the time of ZIKR and Siesta”. All students are remembering the name of their Lord ALLAH in their hearts. This is for 10 minutes daily. Next class begins at 2.15 pm and continues up to 4.00 PM for special laboratory work and home assignments. After completing their assignments students can go to library, language room, model room, as they may like. But! First they must complete their assignments. In case of any difficulty, teacher is there to assist them in solving problems. Between 2.15 to 4.00 pm is also the time for refresher courses and tutorials for weak students. Another special feature of this Centre is that, students do not carry home their assignments or books or homework. All books, exercises and notebooks are provided by the Centre itself and kept in the premises. Thus you will not see the students carrying heavy load of books with them. However, parents who want to coach their wards at home can buy additional set of books. The Centre provides school uniform but parents pay for it. However, parents are responsible for the washing and cleanliness. Each student is required to buy three sets of uniform .One Shalwar Qameez for Friday and two sets of Cadet Uniform. Upon completion of their work, students go for the ASAR prayer. This is the time for the Qur’anic Qirat also; all students are taught the Qirat principles. They are made to practice it in the Mosque. Each month they have Qirat competition where distinguished guests and parents are invited for the encouragement of students. From 5.00 to 6.00 pm is the playtime as per specially chalked out schedule. This is also the time for Visitors departure. It is a unique experience to see this excellent Centre of learning. If you meet the Principal to thank him for his hospitality, he will tell you that, “every week each student must spend four hours in community service”. For this purpose they have a monthly schedule. Accordingly students visit Hospitals to look after the sick, visit Poor Localities to help them improve their conditions, go to the city Gardens for Tree plantation, visit Industries to witness progress, see Museum, Zoo and Art Galleries to develop their creative abilities. Principal will also elaborate Programme like monthly Speech Competition, Lectures, Qur’an Competition, Inter-class games, Group discussions & Workshops. It will be a great Learning experience for you and you will want to come back again to visit The QUEST EDUCATION CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE. Dear Muslims of the world, I acknowledged the “Quranic Education System” (QUEST) written by Dr. Sir. Sultan Bashir-ud-deen Mahmood (A Blessed Soul, Prominent Scientist & Ex-Director of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission). In view of my 21 years foreign experience, I have found this Education Development Programme very practical and beneficial for the children of Pakistan. Therefore, I have decided to establish QUEST Education Center of Excellence (School & College). I have dedicated two acres land for this Scared Project. My goal is to build moral character of Children. It is only possible with great investment of Muslim wealth (Insh’aAllah). It is wise investment for the benefits of Akhirah (hereafter). Insh’aAllah, with the Grace of Allah, QUEST will bring-up A Perfect Generation for the brighter future of Muslim Youth. Allahs Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him) said: When a man dies, all his deeds come to an end, except three, an ongoing charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased). These three acts will continue benefiting a believer till the Day of Judgment. It is also have said in a precious Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (SW), Whoever follows a path to seek knowledge, Allah will make easy for him the path to paradise Let’s! Therefore come forward and offer your moral, intellectual, managerial, financial, and spiritual help according to your given capacity; to walk this cause of ALLAH. One may not have the complete picture of what this great venture may demand from him, but it has been always the case in all-great movements of Revolutions in the world. Even if you have energy only for one step, with the Determination, you must take this step and struggle to move forward and forward. In this way with the Power of ALLAH, we shell make the future and change the world with the peaceful mission of Islam, Insh’aAllah! This is the promise from our Lord, Who says in the Holy Quran: Indeed! Allah will certainly help him who helps His cause; No doubt!
