This is a barn management question... I have a super sensitive TB. Ulcers, can colic easier than most and super nervous to be alone.. Not going into a saga, Ill break it down. 1. There are 2 pastures. 3 horses. One paddock was mowed. 2. Other paddock being held hostage by a horse supposed to be on stall rest, but owner thinks he needs to be able to graze... (Against lameness specialists wishes-- and its been 4 weeks.) 3.Horses were put in a dry area and given tons of hay, plenty of water-- and had their stalls and fans.. And per usual we wait a day or two for the sun to dry up the newly cut grass.. But this time the other owner decided to put our horses out the next morning, after a rain.. I drove up and put the horses back off of the grass knowing this might be bad for my guy. Long story short: My boy ended up colicing. The girl is being super difficult-- and could care less my horse got sick. And on top of it is now being super immature: he had to be stalled, and she threw her muck over the stall gaurd into his stall! Hours after he coliced. I was like: no freakin way😠 What would you do? And what have you heard about freshly mowed grass and the time in between horses going out on it?
