This is a book I am ordering today. From the review it is in harmony both with my academic work on emergent systems and organizations and with the cultural analysis of my new book Faultlines. And it is written by a man who was a major figure in American intelligence until his work brought him into conflict with those who dominate the national security state. He arrived at what seem to be complementary conclusions by a very different route, and that to my mind adds to the importance of taking these arguments seriously.
