This is a chicken and egg question. I can see some throwing - TopicsExpress

This is a chicken and egg question. I can see some throwing capability rising spontaneously. How would it have been employed in a nascent form that would have given the animal that had it a comparative advantage? Would this have allowed the fastball-hurling ancestor the ability to throw rocks driving competitors from a carcass and given her or his tribe better nutrition? I read one thing maybe thirty years ago about how throwing led to better spatial acuity in humans. The author said, since males throw better than females, therefore males also have better spatial acuity. I’m not making this up, that’s what the author said.
