This is a concept I have embraced with my own home after seeing it throughout New Town at St. Charles. I continue to suggest it to my clients. Instead of letting cedar fences and pergolas go natural grey or staining them to stay brown, this idea allows them to create a dramatic contrast to the natural vegetation and landscape materials. This dark color (almost black) enhances the color of the foliage and flowers rather then blending with them.
