This is a copy of my email to Efvi UK:- Hi Efvi UK, Million dollar question - why on earth arent ALL the UK e-cig retailers funding you/us? Its very much in their interest and their wish to survive as a thriving business, that we get to the EU because although the number of signatures weve got in the UK is good, compared to the final target its a drop in the ocean and it would be a travesty if we dont succeed. They all need to get their act together by arranging a days conference (or several days in different parts of the country) and discuss how they can financially and materially support us - the vapers and their customers. Forms, stickers, tee shirts etc. etc. should be available to every single vaper. We should maybe pay for tee shirts but forms for signatures and stickers etc. should be available to anyone at the click of a button. Also, every vaper in the country should be invited to contribute financially. I think we also need to be in contact with the European Efvi organisers to see how they are tackling the problem, how they are collecting signatures and what resources they have available to them and then compare notes. Please dont misunderstand me - Im not trying to teach my granny how to suck eggs because you, as Efvi UK, are doing a truly magnificent job but you obviously dont have the resources you need and deserve. In Ludlow I have a shop willing to collect signatures, Im hoping to find the first pub in Ludlow to allow Vaping and Im considering taking a market stall to collect signatures and spread the word BUT who do I go to for posters, stickers and info? There must be thousands like me across the country but just sitting back and hoping someone somewhere will even be bothered to click on a link and sign something is just not good enough. We really need some corporate muscle behind us because goodness knows we have a good amount of medical and scientific expertise to back us up not forgetting Clive Bates of course et. al. We should be plastering the towns with stickers and Im sure that if Vapers had access to supportive material it would enable them to become far more active - after all - this is war isnt it?! Forgive me for ranting on but its been a long time coming! Ive sat back for months reading, clicking on all the links, educating my self about exactly whats happening but I now believe that we need to really come together because at the moment everything, no matter how interesting, or how important is so fragmented. We are all dis-enfranchised. One last point - are the forms that we can download to collect signatures on official EU forms or have they been designed by someone? The reason I ask is that they are SO not user-friendly. If we have to transfer all the details from them onto the EFVI web site, what on earth are all the little boxes for? I just cannot imagine a prospective signee putting one letter at a time in each little division and then me/us being able to understand it clearly enough to then type each one individually onto the EFVI Initiative. Again, what are retailers using to collect their customers signatures? If youve got to the end of this email - well done and thank you for listening to my rant! Im only trying to suggest solutions and tools that will really make a difference and ensure, as far as is possible, that we all reach our goal. I hope you find time to reply because I really do appreciate how busy you must be. Patricia Waters. A five and a half year vaper
