This is a day to remember - D-Day. Most will not think twice about it, not once even. I was a small child on that day and remember it vividly. Young and old in WW II worried about the outcome of that horrible war. It was present in everything we did and the patriotism of that Great Generation makes my heart swell with pride. We did win that war and I vividly remember the celebration with everyone congregating in the middle of town to revel in the good news of VJ Day. But on this current day, it would appear many have not learned from history, as we are told we must. I have great fear for the country I knew, loved and felt great pride for. I can only pray this generation will look to the future and protect it with wise decisions and actions.
