I would like to clarify that my previous status (which Im guessing someone reported as spam cause it is now missing), was in no way meant to blame or bash anyone that did do the ice bucket challenge. I am definitely not making myself out to be righteous because Im far from it. I waste a lot more water than I realized before seeing the photograph. Long showers, water guns as a kid, slip-n-slide at my 16th birthday...heck, I even dumped bottled water on my dad just this past Saturday while goofing around. I never put those two images together in my mind before actually seeing that photograph. A lot of Americans, myself included (NOTICE I DID NOT SAY ALL AMERICANS), do not think about saving water because it is so easy for us to access. Like I said, I am not pointing fingers at, or judging anyone that did the challenge by any means. Whether you donated or not, you still helped bring awareness, and I can prove that too. I had no idea there was a foundation for ALS until I saw the very first video posted. I honestly had to google what ALS stood for too since, ya know, the last health class I had was in 2008... So thank you to those who made it aware, supposedly there was an increase in several million dollars to ALS. All Im trying to say is, maybe its time the fad ended. (NOTICE I AM NOT SAYING STOP DONATING). Donations can certainly continue. (ATTN: I REPEAT TO THOSE WHO ARE GOING TO SAY IM SAYING STOP DONATING, I AM NOT SAYING STOP DONATING). Back to what I was saying...anyone with cable or internet now knows about the existence of the ALS Foundation, which like I said, is a wonderful thing. Awareness has clearly been a success. My opinion on the ice bucket challenge is that it helped and kudos to those who did it or donated, but maybe now we try raising awareness in ways that do not abuse the planet. ATTN: this status was also not meant in a hateful tone...neither was my last one, but I can see where people misunderstood me. Thank you!
