As of 3:30 p.m. CST, Justin is out of surgery. Dr. Lenoue came to tell us that the surgery went extremely well, that he was able to perform it thoracoscopically which means that Justins largest incision is 12 cm. He was able to avoid the rib tumor; he removed the tumor easily; and he said that it looks viable and alive. Thats good news because the vaccine must be made from live cells. Justin is spending the night in PICU and has a chest tube but looks good despite snoring. Now comes the hard part. We have to wait approximately 4 weeks to see if the biotech company was able to make 4 vaccines. Overall, Justin has one less tumor, so we are feeling positive.
