This is a fake conflict scenario. If the West dont interfere, nothing bad will happen. In big urban centers like Mugadisho, with diverse population profile, which contain nearly 03 million, Al-Shabab idea will not be influential. A decade ago, when they originated, a purpose was served. But, the situation has changed, since then. Today, warlords in Mugadisho are gone, and social chaos they have brought. People are returning from abroad including some Somalilanders, and the city is gradually being rebuilt. Al-Shabab infrastructure in rural areas, could easily be absorbed into the national army. But, that will stop foreign aid. The warlords were entirely clan based, and if over 95% of the clan are poor, recruitment will be an easy task.
