This is a financial comparison of healthcare and Rx plan that I - TopicsExpress

This is a financial comparison of healthcare and Rx plan that I might choose if open enrollment was available today. The goal is to determine which plan is the cheapest in total costs for 2015. This is for planning purposes only! Both plans include the HRA income and Medicare B monthly expense. To complete both of the packages a BCBSGA Premium Plus Package (dental+vison+) is included in both plans. These premiums are included in the bottom line Total Costs of the plans. I have no way to predict what copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and out of pocket expenses will be, but in any case they will not change the comparison, but could cost additional money not projected in the spreadsheet. The Medigap Humana Plan F selected does not have Rx coverage so a Plan D Rx plan is included. The Plan D drug costs include the monthly premiums and the Rx drug costs. The Medigap Plan F covers all copay, coinsurance, deductibles, and other out of pocket so the only costs are the monthly premiums. With this Medigap plan $4,303.07 is the most my healthcare will cost in 2015. The Medicare Advantage Plan includes Rx drug coverage at no additional cost. The Medicare Advantage Plan costs include monthly premiums (if any), plus Rx drug costs. I know of no way to predict what future copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and other out of pocket expenses will be so they are NOT included. Please note that with this plan the copays, coinsurance, and other out of pocket costs have the potential to be UNlimited. With this Advantage plan $6,333.20 is the least my healthcare will cost in 2015. I dont claim to be an expert and I do make mistakes. I would like for some of you Medicare retirees to really look for errors, omissions, and misinformation. Feed back is not only welcome it is encouraged.
