This is a frightening trend, and threatens to further insulate the average person from ever having to contend with contrary opinions, disagreeable emotional responses, or hard truths about life in our world. The last thing we need in our society right now is to strengthen the bubble of protection that people already fashion to keep themselves from interfacing with anyone and anything they dont agree with. Ive had to live in the wake of my brothers devastating suicide, but the idea of requiring a trigger warning (should that phrase be a trigger?) before anything about suicide is brought up would testify to AMAZING weakness and inability to cope on my part. Not to mention the overwhelming pretension and self-importance involved in thinking everyone should have to tiptoe around the subject on my behalf. People: you have a right to be offended. You DONT, and shouldnt, have a right not to be offended.
