This is a good movie youve probably never heard of..The Good Lie..about Sudanese refugees coming to the US in the early 90s. Reese Witherspoon is in it. Shes sweet as usual. Very touching. People just want to live their lives without war and turmoil. Kind of similar with the Afghans here. Heres an email I got from an Afghan architect that is threatened with death from the taliban for trying to better his life by working with the US here as we build military bases for the Afghan military. I wrote him a letter to just apply for a visa, nothing guaranteed... Dear Sir, I received soft copy of the recommendation letter and tomorrow i will get the hard copy from Eng. Dust Ali. i am finding problem to express my high gratitude in words for what you done & spent your valuable time for me. I believe Thank You is too small to return the favor back but yet while there is no better option so with all respect I thank you so much and deeply appreciate your kindness. Your letter paved the way to i would have a bright & secured future. But I cant not try and help these guys that are trying to make a better life for themselves and their family. They will surely be killed once we finally leave this sand pit if they cant escape. I need to just come back home and ride my motor bike and drink beer. This place is mentally exhausting.
