This is a long one, but stick with it, its worth it, I - TopicsExpress

This is a long one, but stick with it, its worth it, I promise! I was at rehearsal earlier this evening for The Full Monty (coming soon to the Georgetown Palace!). We went on break and someone near me started talking about Starbucks. Naturally, I thought Ooh, I like Starbucks. We only had ten minutes, and a couple minutes had already gone by, so I wrestled with myself, wasting more time. But finally, I decided eh, its right down the street, itll take five minutes, and Im not really in any of the other stuff were running tonight anyway. I jumped in my car and it was glorious. Hit every green light on the way and made it there in two minutes flat. I pulled in and there was one guy ahead of me, already at the speaker-grille-thing. Perfect. I got behind him and I waited. And waited. For like FOUR MINUTES. Phrases were uttered in the privacy of my car, stuff like Dude, come on! Its COFFEE. Did you take orders for your whole regiment? Do you need someone to teach you how to order? I only have TEN MINUTES, prick! Finally, he pulls ahead. I pull up and order my drink. Ten seconds, in and out, just to show him how its done, and Im feeling quite smug. He pulls ahead and pays. The person at the window hands him ONE CUP. ONE. FREAKING. CUP. I am all but pounding the steering wheel at this point Are you kidding me? Eventually, the Starbucks person did hand him a SECOND cup, and he drove away. I pulled up, and let me tell you, my money was out and ready. I had exact change. This was going to be the fastest transaction in the HISTORY of Starbucks. The lady handed me my drink and as I reached to pass her the cash, she said Youre covered. The guy in front of you paid for you. So thank you, kind stranger, for reminding me how important it is in life not to be an asshole.
