This is a message I hope to send to all of the Senators: As a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse for many years, I have seen the ravages of military service on many veterans( primary PTSD and TBI). I would like to suggest that the military invest in a debriefing ( therapeutic interventions) for all returning combat veterans equal to the time invested in training them to be warriors. It would help to DE stigmatize getting help and would allow them to be involved with their combat groups, therefore giving them the support they need with people they trust before the PTSD or TBI overwhelm their lives. Surely we could invest the approximately $4000 cost of preparing warriors into the cost of healing warriors.
