This is a message you need to hear. When you are in training - TopicsExpress

This is a message you need to hear. When you are in training and youre feeling out of your depth, lightheaded, experiencing a lot of discomfit, key muscles in your body are already tense and contracting before you even get started or you are fully aware of the injury you have and just want to push on - take a moment to reassess. This doesnt mean you stop training all together but it does mean you need to shift your focus for the time being. You need to deal with whats ailing you before you make it worse. Tight muscles are typically weak muscles, start focusing on mobilizing, lengthening and stretching them. Rebuild your strength gradually and then youll be firing on all cylinders. Your personal trainer or group fitness instructor is not going to be paying for your Physio, chiro or osteo bills. They arent going to be handing you the anti inflammatories at 3am when you cant sleep because of the pain youre experiencing. You need to listen to your body and intuition and pull back when you know you arent on form and something just isnt right. Particularly in a group fitness setting, my biggest piece of advice is to not concern yourself with what anyone else is doing but yourself. Hows your breathing going? Hows your technique? Do you feel ok? Do you need assistance? Do you need a break? I have so much respect for any client takes a time out if they need to. I have so much respect for a client that ignores what others think and puts up their hand to signal they need a modification. I have so much respect for a client that has to go back to basics to ensure they have a strong foundation to build upon. Be aware of your body and listen to it. It will respect you too when you do. Peace out. Ness x
