This is a new date for members, but given the short time frame I am hoping I can put a pin in for this meetup and hope that people will have enough time to adjust their schedules and come. I thought Cafe Eminem was nice venue. Certainly we were able to make ourselves heard, which is more than can be said for other venues. This time I think it is important to set an agenda. I would like to see people suggesting topics of conversation either beforehand (ideal) or at the start of the meeting (as a last ditch). Conversations should follow the premise that we are all there to enjoy ourselves. We want to be skeptical, we enjoy talking about issues of science and rationalism, but if peoples behaviour is removing the enjoyment from the event, even the enjoyment of robust debate, then we need to be able to show the self discipline to be able to rein ourselves in. I would like to discuss the issue of religion in schools and to give an update on where that is at the moment. This issue is close to my heart, as some members of the SitP know.
