This is a perfect example of when an easy job goes bad. A beautiful LLY Dually was dropped off for injectors, easy job right? Wrong, the previous shop that performed head gaskets cut a few corners as shown. Instead of cleaning the injector bores and flats in the head, and lubricating the new body O-rings before install, they just shoved them back in dirty heads. The Motor actually had to be removed, air hammers, slide hammers and engine hoists used to assist the injectors out of their homes. Being that the labor of this job has now almost tripled, along with additional parts needed, it truly pays to take your truck to the right mechanic the first time. A Specialty shop like us may be a few hundred dollars more then a conventional automotive shop on a big drop, but as shown here it pays for itself the next time around.
