I have a fan page Id suggest you like, if you want to hear mostly the comments of a comedian In a post below, I shared a personal concern, that our country seems to be inclined to knee jerk reactions, rather than explore our highest self. This man, not a label or political party, posed questions to see if I could inspire some fresh dialogue regarding politics, specifically what I have observed from day one of the Obama administration. After reading the comments, it (sadly) confirms many of my intuitions about the general state of the American collective. To be clear, if you attack me or what you feel is my agenda, it says more about your character, not mine. I feel like I need to clarify something, in hopes that it causes us to pause. Take a breath from your anger and examine its source. I am suggesting this to do my part in assisting in a healing. Peace begins within, not from a politician. Although some of you are quick to pull the accusatory trigger, my agenda is to do my small part in nudging us into personal transformation, not garner votes for my alleged party. To address some who so effortlessly resorted to name calling and hate spewing, I will attempt once again to address the credibility factor, as you summarily dismiss my inquiries and suggested protocol. specifically, I asked for POLICIES Obama has implemented to instigate such rage and hostile rhetoric. What I see still are opinions that seem to be rehashing of what we hear from your chosen information outlet. I was raised in a Republican Philadelphia home by a single mother of limited financial means. We got by on a salary a man would not have received, causing me to begin the process of wanting equality and a level playing field for ALL. I began working at 13. Not a dime of what I have earned has been handed to me. I paid for all of my college education. Any success came from really hard, committed work. No handouts, no entitlement, no inheritance. It has been a long and sometimes difficult journey, all leading to a dream life with amazing wife and four beautiful, unique children. I deeply care about our childrens future. If you want to pin the liberal label on me, thus shutting down all sides (including yours), I will tell you that I voted for Ronald Reagan and actually see Richard Nixon for achievements outside of Watergate that resonate with me. I have huge problems with leaders who take us to war from their cronies profit, so that includes issues with Democrat Johnson and Republican Bush. My personal feelings about war have to do with examining history and the tactics ALL leaders have used to carry out their plan. They use spin to scare the common man, and the common man responds with violence as the answers to dealing with the enemy du jour, all while the politicians sit in their comfy office provided much of the time by wealthy cowards who finance our elected leaders, while profiting from the sacrifice of the lower class. To me, we would do our service men and woman more good if we fought harder to negotiate, not attack and kill. I might live in LA, but I assure you, there are no secret lefty meetings I attend, and I will not watch cable news. The source that propels me is not a talking head, whose agenda is to boost the numbers for corporate sponsors, but a higher, mindful soul. I have found personal freedom and happiness from moving from a space of loud yackers with a selfish goal, to a genuine and loving place in my deepest heart. I dont talk to our children about rules set forth by the greedy, but speak to them by being a good person, answering to my own choices. It feels great. It is actually what makes me a better artist, to live in empathy, compassion and consciousness. My post was an attempt to inspire a wakeup call. But it seemed to cause some of you to respond in ways I truly believe is hurting you. How do I arrive at this conclusion? Because I once walked in those shoes. I empowered others to dictate how I thought and behaved. I let those whose drive for power and control run my thoughts. Then, through hard work, this time on myself and my internal script, I began to listen to that divine voice within. I wish to never return to unresolved resentment. And Id be selfish if I kept my road to happiness to myself. So, perhaps those of you who choose to mindlessly and unconsciously post what you hear from your deemed foundation of information, you can stop to reflect what propels you to such vitriol. To be clear, I am no zombie idiot in denial, who keeps his head in the sand. I look at history, not to memorize stupid facts about Columbus sailing in 1492, but to examine what we can learn from his previously hidden (barbaric) actions. My heart guides me now, and it tells me to look at the good in people, and that includes those who have attacked me, other posters or even our president. You can do better than calling Obama the antichrist, which ironically is not very christike. I believe you can look beyond what is in front of you in our 140 character, soundbite society. I believe you too can find a place of empathy if you take a simple choice to change the script you were handed. I see so much hate when it comes to this president. Please do yourself a favor and not eschew a thought that much of this mean spirited is race baiting. What it is (from my view), is a request to examine the core of what would cause people to attack our leader this unprecedented way. I am NOT defending all he does, and frankly have opposed certain legislation, but to treat him in this way, using his middle name to drive a point that you think hes the enemy, only demonstrates ignorance, not the solution we need in America. I do respect your views, but wish for them to be your perspective, not one of a birther. Now, with open mind and heart, I ask that you tell me another side I am not seeing. Tell me why we are going to hell under this man, and please look to where your info is coming from. If you think the healthcare plan is leading us to the worst economy in history, then I truly want to hear it broken down why. If you think he isnt handling foreign affairs properly, then Id like to hear how it should be done or how your guy would approach it. Also, Id love it if you would be honest about what is fear and what is fact in your personal world. The self expedition might work wonders for you! An artist works from truthful inspiration, not deceitful instigation. Ok...now lets begin anew...
