This is a question that is up for debate and directed to a Nuwaupian and supporter of the Malachi York theology Rayshaun Justice. He asked me, Chuck Morgan what would u like to debate about Being he wants to debate me because hes obviously in opposition to what I have written about York, I will accommodate him. Here is a question from the Nuwaupianism site where its documented that York claims the following, ...In Ancient Kham (Egypt), Bast Was A Cat Deity Who Was Worshiped By The Egyptians. This Is Where You Get Your Roman Catholic Church From, Which Is Roman, CAT And HOLISTIC, Meaning Cat Holy Or Holy Cat. The Holy Cat Is Symbolic Of The Sphinx, Which Represents A Cat Man With The Face Of A Pharaoh And The Body Of The Lion And Also Represents The Egyptian Lion Of Judah Which Is Jupiter (Also Called Zeus)... -The Dog pg. 36 My opponent Rayshaun is expected to give empirical evidence from the best and most respected Catholic Church archives, e.g. records from the Vatican, dictionaries, biographies, encyclopedia, testimonials from the clergy, the Popes testimonies and verification of the Sphinx being the Holy Cat. This is needed because York makes the claim that its a Catholic concept. * A side note: my opponent Rayshaun Justice must show that WITHOUT ANY REASONABLE DOUBT that the Catholics claimed that the ancient Egyptian Sphinx is known to them as the Holy Cat hence the name Catholic. York stands firm in his positions of having the truth, ...everything I say I prove, thats what makes me different... -Malachi Z. York - TEMPLE OF IMHOTEP CLASS 1997 I will now move on to give my own arguments as to why there is no justification or evidence to corroborate Yorks notion that the term, Catholic is a term referencing the ancient Egyptian Sphinx. York is seen in the following video teaching his Nuwaupians that Holy Cat is Cat-holic in section 3:33 https://youtube/watch?v=EsgojqJXSV8&feature=youtu.be Catholic according to the Catholic Dictionary says... (Greek: katholikos, universal) The term in its primitive and non-ecclesiastical sense of universal, occurs in the Greek classics, and was freely used by the earlier Christian writers. The combination, the Catholic Church, is found for the first time in the Letter of Saint Ignatius to the Smyrneans, written about the year 110. The words run: Wheresoever the bishop shall appear, there let the people be, even as where Jesus may be, there is the universal (catholic) Church. Catholic (adj.) mid-14c., of the doctrines of the ancient Church, literally universally accepted, from Fr. catholique, from L.L. catholicus universal, general, from Gk. katholikos, from phrase kath holou on the whole, in general, from kata about + gen. of holos whole (see safe (adj.)). Applied to the Church in Rome c.1554, after the Reformation began. General sense of of interest to all, universal is from 1550s. As a noun, attested from 1560s. The word Catholic (katholikos from katholou — throughout the whole, i.e., universal) occurs in the Greek classics, e.g., in Aristotle and Polybius, and was freely used by the earlier Christian writers in what we may call its primitive and non-ecclesiastical sense. Thus we meet such phrases as the the catholic resurrection (Justin Martyr), the catholic goodness of God (Tertullian), the four catholic winds (Irenaeus), where we should now speak of the general resurrection, the absolute or universal goodness of God, the four principal winds, etc. The word seems in this usage to be opposed to merikos (partial) or idios (particular), and one familiar example of this conception still survives in the ancient phrase Catholic Epistles as applied to those of St. Peter, St. Jude, etc., which were so called as being addressed not to particular local communities, but to the Church at large. source: New Advent; Catholic Encyclopedia Based on their Dictionary, most encyclopedias and basic research of the word Catholic, there is no mention of a holy cat (sacred feline) in connection with the ancient Egyptians in the Catholic teachings and or doctrine. Rayshaun Justice, I now yield the floor to you and I await the evidence that supports Yorks claim that the ancient Egyptian Sphinx is were we get the word CAT-HOLY-ISTIC or simply CATHOLIC.
