This is a reminder about the fundraising iftar and press conference being held for Burma. The Muslims of Burma have been classified as the most oppressed people of the world. They are facing the most brutal and cruel religious cleansing campaign in the modern world. Poor, unarmed, chased, rejected by neighbours, they are seeking the help of the world to hear their plight and come to their help. Burma Muslim refugees are among the neediest on Earth now and your support will go right where the need is highest. In line with its commitment to the needy people of our Ummah, the Windsor Muslim community will hold a fundraising event on Sunday July 14 and a press conference on July 15 to address this matter insha Allah. The guest speaker is Br. Anwar Arkani from Burma, whose father and grand father were killed. He recently came back from a site visit in Thailand and Malaysia where he met with a large number of refugees who had escaped by sea, and he will give us a fresh and lively update on the situation in Burma. This is a unique opportunity to do a noble action and help where it is needed the most in this blessed month. The Sunday program will start at 7pm with a situation update by Br. Anwar and then a fundraiser before maghrib to raise money for shelter and food. The usual Sunday WIA iftar will follow. The Monday press conference will be held at 11:30am at the Windsor Mosque.
