This is a very interesting article. I never thought much about the ideas discussed, but they have a lot of merit. You see a few images that are just stunning. Often they are even photos from different photographers. Or a bride shows the photographer a set of photos culled from Pinterest that are out of this world. And she wants those photos of her too. The challenge is that not even that photographer can get that quality of photos all the time. They shoot dozens of weddings a year, and thousands of photos, and maybe a handful a year come out that great. Probably all from the one same wedding that everything just seemed to work. Many of those photographers might even use professional retouchers on the photos too. Then I wonder why I cannot get all my shots to look just like those 3 to 5 photos. Then I get discouraged and put myself and my work down. That is when it is so important to look at the prints around my office of the photos I adore. That helps me get back on track to realize that not every photo, or every shoot will be an award winner.
